ARTISANAL CLOTHING & ACCESSORIES

Margo Selby

Margo learned to create the unique 3-dimensional fabrics that have become her trademark when she worked as a woven textile designer for industrial mills. Her fascination with mathematics can be seen in both her precise geometric patterns and her systematized process of weaving. Each piece is individually handwoven using a 17th century technique called Lampas to create decorative brocade fabrics. She uses these traditional weave structures to create abstract color studies with a modernist feel.

Margo studied textile design at Chelsea College of Art and Design, followed by a postgraduate degree at The Royal College of Art in 2001. She lives in London, England.
